Democrats Keep Hope Alive! Push Idea Palin May Still Get The Eagleton Treatment
Apparently the suuuuppper-geniuses at Obama-Biden HQ don’t watch TV. Or read the papers. Or surf the internets.
In memos, e-mails and phone calls this week, Obama campaign officials have urged surrogates and allies to mention Republicans who are “nervous” about the Palin pick and to link those worries to George McGovern’s aborted vice presidential pick of Thomas Eagleton in 1972, according to three Democratic surrogates.

I was going to wear a bag over my head and vote for McCain this year. However by picking Sarah Palin, McCain shows that he is a maverick that remembers where his base is. The first female senators were Republicans. Jackie Robinson was a Republican. Western governors know how to get things done without “redistributing wealth” or “community organizing”. We don’t put up with people whoa are friends with terrorists, hatemongers or those who hate their country while trying to run for office. Palin is the future, one where real people practice real politics, not Marxist talking points.
The Main Stream Media has been hit the worst:
Media on the defensive over Palin coverage.
By Matea Gold, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer

NEW YORK — News executives Thursday tried to shake off the excoriations of the media emanating from the Republican National Convention, defending their coverage of GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin as responsible and evenhanded.
While top television network officials and newspaper editors largely dismissed the critiques as partisan rhetoric, some fretted that charges of media bias had reached a new and disturbing level.
It says quite a bit about the state of modern journalism that one of the last national media outlets to post a story about the family of Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin is the National Equirer—and something else again that the Enquirer article is less partisan in tone and apparently more solid in their sourcing than network and cable news channels, national newspapers, and magazines that have published outlandish claims that even Bat Boy would know better than to report.

One of the credited writers of the song Barracuda, Michael DeRosier, just called in to a local (Seattle) radio talk show and basically said Ann & Nancy Wilson of Heart should get a life and he thought it was pretty cool that the song was being played at the RNC. Here’s the Wikipedia entry on the song: Credited writers are shown in the upper right hand of the page. The podcast of the show will eventually be here. They usually post it around 4 p.m. Pacific. The call is at the very end of the 1st hour. More update!!! Currently on-air… Roger Fisher, guitarist for Heart is now calling in (he also co-wrote the song). He’s an avid Obama supporter, but also thinks it’s great the song was being played at the RNC. This is right at the beginning of the second hour.
p.s. the asnwers to all your Palin questions can be found here:
- No, the Downs baby (Trig) isn’t Bristol’s kid, and no, the kid wasn’t born with Downs because (a) Palin flew on an airplane (b) went home to have the baby after an amniotic leak (c) because he was the result of incest between Todd Palin and Bristol.
- No, Track (the kid who is leaving for Iraq) didn’t join the NG because he was a drug addict. He may have joined the NG because he was tired of people saying his Mom was getting him into the good hockey leagues. (Yes, that one was original reporting. I’ve got sources in Wasilla.)
