Duckspeak is a Newspeak term meaning literally to quack like a duck or to speak without thinking….An example of a skillful duckspeaker in action is provided in the beginning of chapter 9, in which an Inner Party speaker is haranguing the crowd about the crimes of Eurasia when a note is passed into his hand; he does not stop speaking for a moment, or change his voice or manner, but (according to the changed party line) he now condemns the crimes of Eastasia, which is Oceania’s new enemy.
It’s a death by a million paper cuts. Remember “cop killer bullets“? Tax cuts for the wealthy?
If you are not a model minority, toeing the party line and acting like they want you to think..well, your just dumb (and evil and stupid and a tool). Never mind that the chief target of this hate is a failed presidential candidate and is not running for office.
It’d be funny if it wasn’t so sad (and horrifying when pointed at you). They try to make every argument “heads I win, tails you lose.” Language, meaning and even the rules of debate are like putty in the hands of the left.
But no matter, their tactics work against them. We see the ugly left for what is really is. A monster out to control our lives via the state. A monster out to make us victims and dependent on it. A climate of hate where dissent is impossible. Unlike the 20th century, the 21st has the interwebs and the Right-wing blogosphere.
We’ll show the duckspeakers how ugly they truly are.
P.S. Victor Davis Hanson brings up a good point:
The result in these hard times is that our elected sheriffs, mayors, and governors are loudly weighing in on national and global challenges that are quite often out of their own jurisdiction, while ignoring or failing to solve the very problems that they were elected to address.
Quite simply, the next time your elected local or state official holds a press conference about global warming, the Middle East, or the national political climate, expect to experience poor county law enforcement, bad municipal services, or regional insolvency.
